WorkKeys in Mississippi

Just as a bit of background I will fill you in on what has gone on with the WorkKeys Employment System here.  Mississippi, for several years now, has been testing all of it’s vocational or technical high school students with 3 of the WorkKeys assessments. Applied Math, Reading for Information, and Locating Information.  Some see this testing as just a validation of the particular vocational program.  It shouldn’t be.  If one hand knew what the other was doing...the folks from the Workforce Development side of the house would have a report card on a nice size group of Mississippi’s emerging workforce. I bet the Nissan folks in Madison would like information like that.  Maybe that’s too much to ask.  Anyway...many schools have selected KeyTrain to help their students build skills. It works, it builds skills, students like it, and they move levels.  Students and schools win with KeyTrain. Now if we can get Workforce Development on board, that will be a big win for Mississippi.
