More NCLB Comments (No Child Left Behind)
Since the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Legislation was signed there has been a huge outcry from all sectors. Some see it as a godsend, some as a demon to education. Some see it as socialism from the Republicans. Whichever your viewpoint, there are some things contained in NCLB that are worthwhile goals...but goals that will likely offend those effected. The goal for today’s discussion is the one for technical literacy contained within Title II of NCLB. Let’s face it...Technology is a powerful influence in our society and we can ill afford to have students leaving our very expensive educational system without at least a basic grasp of it. If that is a given, then it seems logical that all Teachers should meet or exceed the same qualifications. If NCLB went missing tomorrow, those goals should remain in place. There is some truth to the idea of being a master of technology or a slave to it. Learn Technology and let Technology work for you. Students and Teachers alike. See our information about the CAT1 program from the Technical Fluency Institute for more ideas about easily complying with the NCLB requirements or contact us toll free.
