CAT1...coming to a Computer near You

Well...I will begin by saying that I am somewhat surprised...but not really.  We continue to see a high level of interest in the CAT1 program from the Technological Fluency Institute.  The CAT1 program was created as part of a grant at Pittsburg State University (home of the Gorillas).  The grant involved using technology in teaching or with Teachers...have to go back to my research to clean up this story, but that’s close enough for now.  Anyway...CAT1 is an online assessment and tutorial for computer technology.  It measures your savvy in different areas with a number of performance objectives.  If you don’t feel ready for any of the assessment objectives, you can just go straight to the tutorial and learn how to perform the objective.  When comfortable, you can proceed to the objective.  The end result is a level of Technological Fluency.  Professional Development folks...imagine having teachers and instructors that show up for your training sessions and they are already reasonably proficient with the computer??  All participants singing from the same music.
