An Educational Observation
It seems that many people claim great concern about the status of education. Primarily that students leave school after so many years of formal education with little or no marketable skills. This is a chance to rectify that...use the WorkKeys system to analyze the skills needs and KeyTrain to build those skills. No matter what the pursuit...skills will be needed. Many of those skills are not taught in traditional courses.

I read an interesting article last Friday. The Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board, Alan Greenspan, was addressing the Chamber of Commerce in Omaha Nebraska. What I took from it was a message often repeated and seldom absorbed. I probably read into it some things that weren’t said. He was pointing out that while the number of people in the workforce with some college increases...the shortage of skills or skilled workers is still increasing. What I got is this...Education doesn’t necessarily mean skills. Or skills need to be taught too. You can travel to Italy, study the renaissance, and get an advanced degree...but if you don’t have skills, you might not have a job. Yep...you got it. WorkKeys again.
